It is powered by 2/150 hp F100 4stroke yamaha motors, has a fuel capacity of 600 liters. 300 liters in each tank built to NZ survey standards designed specifically for big game fishing. With Pen and Shamana reels and big game fishing rods, this boat makes an excellent fishing platform, handles big loads and big seas well and is safe, soft riding and economical in service. It is also an excellent diving platform, fish the dream is fitted with sounder and G.P.S.
It is now 3 years since Fish the Dream arrived at Sinalei and since then has had excellent catches of the different species of fish available on the south side i.e. Blue Marlin, Masimasi, Sailfish, Wahoo, Barracuda, yellow fin Tuna, Dogtooth tuna, Shortbill spearfish & Vailima.
Unlike the Apia side, you are fishing as soon as you pass the reef in 50 fathoms of water. Continue a mile out and you are in 280 fathoms - and 2.3 miles out you are over 1,000 fathoms.
Like other pacific fishing areas such as Tonga and Vanuatu, you do have non productive days. At Sinalei you can hope to always come back with something.
"Fish the Dream" is well equipt with good big game fishing equipment however if an angler wishes to bring his own rod and reel he is more than welcome to do so. Non fishing partners welcome also (depending on space availability).
Sinalei is an upmarket resort with a very relaxed atmosphere. For the non fishing days, tours of the island can be arranged through the very friendly office staff.
Normal price for full day charters on Fish the dream (8-9 hours) is $1800.00 Samoan Tala for the boat & 1/2 day (4-5 hrs) is $1200 Samoan Tala for the boat.
