Simply Savai'i Savaii is third largest Polynesian island after Tahiti and New Zealand. With a population of about 42,000, it’s also one of the few places on earth where you can truly experience the simple pleasures of life. 27 May - both USO Bike Ride for Cancer and Healthy Living The Samoan Cancer Society will be hosting the USO Bike riding group on a cancer and healthy living awareness ride around Upolu and Savaii. The USO Bike Riders is a group of New Zealand-Born Samoans who ride bikes around New Zealand in the hope of improving the health of pacific island people.

31 May - upolu Independence 2013 In 1962, Samoa became the first South Pacific island to gain independence. This year marks Samoa's 51st Independence Anniversary.
