Samoa out to improve tourism, MICE demand
Thursday, 10 March 2011
The Pacific’s Samoa will showcase its attractions to travel planners this March when the Fa’a Samoa Roadshow (20-25 March) will be held in various locations on the Samoan islands of Upolu and Savai’i.
Australian product managers and senior travel agents attending the event will receive property updates, be introduced to new properties and accommodation options and meet property managers and Samoa Tourism Authority representatives.
Participants will be able to witness first hand the progress made since the 2009 tsunami.
Peter Sereno, Samoa Tourism Authority Australia, says there is a need to educate the trade on the offerings unique to Samoa.
“Samoa has excellent conference venues for the MICE market, state of the art sporting facilities ideal for training tours, amenities for water sports, golf and picture perfect locations for weddings and honeymoons," said Sereno. “With its beautiful white sand beaches, clear waters, stunning waterfalls, lush rainforest, rugged mountains and lava fields, Samoa is also the perfect destination for the soft adventure enthusiast.”
