Samoa took the Auckland Waterfront - Viaduct Basin by storm last night. At this prestigous event, the New Zealand based  Samoan Dance Group were invited to participate and provide entertainment in the events Grand Finale PrizeGiving night. The Millenium Cup is a yacht race series on Auckland Harbour for Super Yachts and is held yearly. This year it has co-incided with the Louis Vuitton Pacific Cup Series -  which concluded in Auckland yesterday (Saturday).

Organisers of The Millenium Cup were extended this remarkable opportunity to Samoa to provide a Pacific Style of entertainment to complete their theme for the 3 day event. Samoa was fortunate to be chosen ahead of Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga and the Cook Islands.

A crowd of over 1000 people were invited into the old Alhingi Americas Cup Sheds for the Prizegiving night. The first 10-15 minute show went on. The applause and shouts said it all. The prizegiving followed. Half an hour later the final show of 15 minutes happened. Then  Siva Afi - which bought wide applause from throughout the pavillion.

The guests included Super Yacht Owners, Captains and crews, VIPs from NZ and the International Media.

Samoa gave all the guests and media a truly amazing South Pacific experience of fast paced song, dance and fire !
