Samoa Shipping Corporation operates two vehicle and passenger ferries between Samoa’s main island of Upolu and its largest island, Savai’i.
Ferry terminals are located at Mulifanua Wharf on Upolu Island, and Salelologa Wharf on Savai’i Island. The crossing takes 60-90 minutes.
For walk-on ferry passengers, tickets can be bought at the Samoa Shipping Corporation office in Apia or at the ferry terminal, cash basis only. A VIP ticket for an additional fee allows you to access the VIP lounge onboard the larger ferry which offers air conditioning, plus tea, coffee and a snack.
