If you don’t have an international roaming plan for your mobile phone, you may find buying a prepaid local SIM card is the best way to ensure you can use your cellphone in Samoa.
SIM cards are readily available at Faleolo International Airport and at outlets in Apia. You can top up your SIM card at most convenience stores or online.
Samoa’s main telecommunications providers are Bluesky Samoa and Digicel
Both provide extensive coverage in Upolu and Savai’i, and have 4G networks.
WiFi is accessible via hotspots that are found at restaurants and hotels in Apia, Faleolo International Airport and many resorts in both Upolu and Savai’i Islands.
Blue Sky Samoa and LavaSpot both offer these pay-by-the-minute hotspots.
Ask at your accommodation for WiFi access, or purchase pre-paid Wi-Fi access online, in the form of a Lavacard of BlueZone WiFi pass.
Lavacards are available online or at registered LavaSpot WiFi sites.
